Abstract

Bu çalışmada Herakleitos'un 98 nolu fragmanında yer alan temel kavramlardan hareketle antik yunan düşünmesinde ruh ve öte dünya kavramlarına farklı bir açıdan yaklaşılacaktır. Herakleitos'un bu fragmanındaki ruhların duyumlaması için neden koklama fiilinin söz konusu olduğu tartışılacaktır. Bu konuda özellikle Homeros'un Odysseia adlı yapıtında Hades'e, yeraltı dünyasına yapılan yolculuk göz önünde bulundurulacaktır. Son olarak koku ve inanma arasındaki ilişki gösterilmeye çalışılacaktır.

In this article, we try to approach the concepts of soul and the other world in Ancient Greek thinking from another point of view, and we will start our exploration of these concepts from the basic concepts in the fragment 98 of Heraclitus. We will argue why the act of smelling is considered for the sensing of the souls in this fragment of Heraclitus. The journeys to Hades, to underworld in the Odyssey of Homer will be considered in this context. Finally, we will try to show the relation between the smell and believing.
